DAY 1 - First Appearance of the Angel
The angel first appeared in the spring or summer of 1916 at Loca do Cabeço, a rocky outcrop near the top of a hill called Cabeço, not far from Aljustrel.
This is the account of the apparition of Sister Lucia:
“We had been playing for a while when a strong wind shook the trees. As it was a windless day, we looked up to see what was happening in the east, a light whiter than snow, in the form of a translucent youth, brighter than sun-struck glass.
“As he got closer we began to see his features. He was a very handsome young man, about fourteen or fifteen years old. We were surprised and delighted. We didn't say a word.
"Approaching us, he said:
'Without fear. I am the angel of peace. Pray with me. “She knelt down and curtsied until his forehead touched the ground.
Guided by supernatural inspiration, we imitate him and repeat the words we hear him say:
"My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love. I ask your forgiveness for those who do not believe, adore, hope or love."
"After repeating this twice, he got up and said: 'Pray like this. The hearts of Jesus and Mary hear the voice of your requests.' Then he disappeared.

DAY 2 – Second Appearance of the Angel
The second appearance of the Angel of Portugal took place in the summer of 1916 over the well of the house of Lucia's parents, where the three children played.
Sister Lucia tells what the angel told them:
",What are you doing?
"'How are we going to sacrifice?' I asked.
“'Offer to God an offering of all you can, as an act of indemnity for the sins with which He is offended, and as a supplication for the conversion of sinners.
“Bring peace to your country by doing this. I am your guardian angel, the angel of Portugal.
"Above all, accept and bear with submission all the sufferings that the Lord sends you." Then she disappeared.
“The angel's words were engraved in our souls like a light that made us understand who God is, how much he loves us and wants to be loved, the value of sacrifice and how God is pleased with sacrifice and converts sinners through it. "

DAY 3 - Third Appearance of the Angel
The third apparition took place in the late summer or early fall of 1916, again at Loca do Cabeço.
According to Sister Lúcia, this happened as follows:
“As soon as we got there, we started doing the angel prayer on our knees, with our faces to the ground.
"My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love you..."I don't know how many times we had said this prayer when we saw an unknown light shining above our heads.
We got up to see what was happening and we saw the angel holding a chalice in his left hand. Drops of blood fell into the chalice from a host that hung above.
The angel left the chalice and the host suspended in the air, prostrated himself by our side and recited the following prayer three times:
""Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore you deeply and I offer you the most precious body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the earth, in reparation for the offenses, sacrilege and indifference with which offends him, and by the infinite merits of his Most Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg you for the conversion of poor sinners.'
“After this, he rose and took the chalice and host in his hand; The host, Jacinta and Francisco gave me the contents of the chalice to drink and told me:
“Take and drink the body and blood of Jesus Christ, who is terribly offended by ungrateful men. He makes amends for his crimes and comforts your God.'
"He threw himself down again and repeated the same prayer with us three more times. 'Holy Trinity...' Then he disappeared."
After this vision, the children remained prostrate for a long time, repeating the angel's prayer.

DAY 4 - First Apparition of Our Lady
May 13, 1917
The three children were playing in Cova da Iria on May 13, 1917, when they saw two lightning bolts, after which they saw Our Lady on an oak tree.
It was, according to Lucía's description, "a lady dressed in white, more radiant than the sun..." Her face, of indescribable beauty, was "neither sad nor happy, but serious", with a slight reproach. . Her hands, folded as if in prayer, rested on her chest and pointed upward. A rosary dangles from her right hand.
"Pray the rosary every day to bring peace to the world and an end to war."
The visionaries were so close to Our Lady, about five feet away, that they stood in the light emanating from her.
Among other things, Our Lady directly asked the visionaries: “Do you want to offer yourselves to God to bear all the sufferings that He wants to send you, both as an act of reparation for the sins with which He is offended, and in supplication for the conversion of the sinners? ?”
To which Lucía, the oldest of the three, replied: "Yes, we do."
„Well, then you will suffer a lot. But the grace of God will be your consolation, replied the beautiful lady.
Lucía goes on to describe what followed:
"When he said these last words 'Grace of God', for the first time he opened his hands from which an extremely intense light emanated that penetrated our chests, reached the bottom of our souls and made us see ourselves in God who was that light, more clearer than we can see ourselves in the best mirrors.
“Then, moved by a deep inspiration, we kneel down and repeat internally: 'Oh Holy Trinity, I adore you! My God, my God, I love you in the Blessed Sacrament.'”
“A moment later, Our Lady added:'Pray the rosary every day to bring peace to the world and an end to war.'

DAY 5 – Second Apparition of Our Lady
June 13, 1917
Appearing for the second time on the holm oak, Our Lady spoke to the children at the agreed time about their future, both in this world and in eternity. She also reveals to you for the first time the image of her Immaculate Heart!
Lucia refers to the following exchange:
Lucy:I want to ask you to take us to heaven.
Our lady:Yes, in a while I'll take Jacinta and Francisco with me, but you're going to stay here for a while. Jesus wants to use you to make me known and loved. He wants to establish devotion to My Immaculate Heart in the world. I promise salvation to whoever accepts it; and these souls will be loved by God like the flowers that he arranged to adorn his throne.
Lucy:Am I going to stay here alone?
Our lady:no, daughter, do you suffer a lot? Do not bother. I will never leave you.May my Immaculate Heart be your refuge and the path that will lead you to God.
Lucía writes: “After these last words, she opened her hands and shared with us for the second time the reflection of that intense light. We could see ourselves in it as if we were immersed in God. Jacinta and Francisco seemed to be in the part of that light that went up to heaven and I in the part that fell to the ground. In front of Our Lady's right hand was a heart surrounded by thorns that seemed to pierce it. We understand that it was the Immaculate Heart of Mary that was offended by the sins of humanity and demands reparation."

DAY 6 - Third Apparition of Our Lady
July 13, 1917
That day, Our Lady had her most famous apparition in Fatima, after the Miracle of the Sun, which would take place three months later. For the brevity necessary for this novena to Our Lady of Fatima, we will recount the two most important revelations that occurred that day.*
Part One - The Vision of Hell
Lucía writes: “Our Lady showed us a great sea of fire that seemed to be under the earth. Immersed in this fire were demons and souls in human form, like transparent burning embers, all blackened or burnished bronze, floating in the conflagration, now lifted into the air by the flames, now coming out of them along with great clouds of smoke. falling on all sides like sparks in a great fire, without weight or balance, and in the midst of screams and groans of pain and despair that made us tremble and terrify.
The demons could be distinguished by their terrifying and repulsive resemblance to hideous and unknown beasts, all black and transparent. This vision lasted only a moment. How can we be grateful enough to our kind Heavenly Mother who has already prepared us by promising us in the first apparition that she would take us to heaven? Otherwise, I think we would have died of fear and terror."
The second part - The warning of punishment and how to avoid it
Then the children looked at Our Lady, who told them with such kindness and sadness:
“You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wants to establish devotion to My Immaculate Heart in the world. If what I tell you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace. The war (World War I) comes to an end, but if people do not stop offending God, during the pontificate of Pius XI. (World War II) an even worse war broke out. When you see a night illuminated by an unknown light, you know that this is the great sign that God has given you that he is about to punish the world for its war crimes, famines, and persecutions of the Church and the Saint. father. DAY 7 - Fourth Apparition of Our Lady
August 19, 1917
For the first time since Our Lady's first apparition on August 13, the visionaries were present.Noin der Cova da Iria.
They had been kidnapped by the mayor of Vila Nova de Ourém, who was trying to force on them the secret revealed in the apparition on July 13. The children resisted, although the mayor locked them up and threatened to immerse them in boiling oil.
Thunder was heard in Cova da Iria at the usual time, followed by lightning.
Onlookers noticed a small white cloud hovering over the oak tree for a few minutes. Coloring phenomena were observed on people's faces, clothing, trees, and the ground.
Our Lady certainly came, but she did not find the seers.
On August 19, after being released from captivity and sent back home, Lucia was at around 4:00 p.m. with Francisco and another cousin in Valinhos, the farm of one of her uncles, when the weather changed. The Cova da Iria began to take place: a sudden cooling of the temperature and a sunset of the sun.
Sensing that something supernatural was approaching and enveloping her, Lucía sent for Jacinta, who arrived just in time to see Our Lady appear, previously heralded by a strong lightning bolt, on an oak tree a little larger than the one in Cova da Iria.
Lucy:What does Your Grace want from me?
Our lady:I want you to continue going to Cova da Iria on the 13th of each month and to continue praying the Rosary every day. In the last month I will do the miracle so that everyone believes.
Then Our Lady's face became more serious and even angry.
Our lady:If they hadn't brought you to Ourém, the miracle would have been even greater.
Lucy:What does Your Grace intend to do with the money that people leave in Cova da Iria?
Our lady:I made two portable stands. She and Jacinta with two other girls dressed in white carry one and let Francisco carry the other with three other children. The portable stalls are for the Feast of Nossa Senhora do Rosário. The remaining money will be donated to the chapel they are going to build.

DAY 8 - Fifth Apparition of Our Lady
13.09.1917
Although this was the briefest of all the Fatima apparitions, Our Lady persisted in her request for prayers and sacrifices that day. She also prophesied to the children specific aspects of the miracle that would occur in October.
A crowd estimated at 20,000 people observed atmospheric phenomena similar to those of previous apparitions: the sudden cooling of the air, an eclipse of the sunto the point where you could see the stars, and a rain like iridescent flower petals or snowflakes that disappeared before hitting the ground.
This time a luminous sphere was noted moving slowly and majestically across the sky from east to west and in the opposite direction at the end of the apparition. The seers saw a light and then the Mother of God in the holm oak.
Our lady:Keep praying the Rosary for the end of the war. In October Our Lord, Our Lady of Sorrows and Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Saint Joseph with the Child Jesus will also come to bless the world. God delights in your sacrifices, but he does not want you to sleep with the ropes; use them only during the day. (Children wore ropes around their waists as a sacrifice for sinners.)
Lucy:You asked me to ask you for many things, for the healing of some sick people, a deaf.
Our lady:Yes, I will heal some, others not. In October I will do a miracle so that everyone believes.

DAY 9 - Sixth Apparition of Our Lady
And the Miracle of the Sun – October 13, 1917
Our Lady opened her hands and shined the light emanating from them on the sun, and as she ascended, her own effulgence continued to shine on the sun.
At that moment, Lucia shouted: "Look at the sun!"
After Our Lady disappeared into the immensity of the firmament, three scenes followed, symbolizing first the joyful mysteries of the Rosary (the Holy Family), then the painful mysteries (Our Mother of Sorrows; Our Lord on the way to Calvary blessing the people) and end the Glorious Mysteries (Nossa Senhora do Carmo).
While these scenes were taking place, the large crowd of 70,000 spectators witnessed the miracle of the sun.
During the apparition it rained all the time. At the end of the conversation between Our Lady and Lucia, when the Blessed Virgin stood up and Lucia shouted: "Look at the sun!" - the clouds parted and revealed the sun as a huge silver disk, shining with an intensity never seen before. it shone, though not dazzling.
This only lasted a moment. Then the giant disk began to "dance"; The fireball seemed to tremble, shudder, then zigzag toward the terrified crowd.
This all took about ten minutes. Eventually, the sun zigzagged back to its original spot and stood still and bright again, shining its normal brightness. The cycle of appearances has ended.
Many people noticed that their rain-soaked clothes suddenly dried out.
The sun miracle was also seen by numerous witnesses within twenty-five miles of the apparition.*
