Alfa Romeo is an Italian automobile manufacturer. Initially it was called A.L.F.A, which also meansAfor anonymous,EUfrom Lombardy,Ffor Fabbrica and othersApara Automobili, about Anonyme lombardische Automobilfabrik.
It was founded on June 24, 1910 in Milan, Italy. They started in 1911 with their entry into motorsport. Before that it was a subsidiary oftrust group, was owned by the Institute of Industrial Reconstruction. now it's fiatChrysler AutomobileItaly.
Over the years of its production, Alfa Romeo was known for utilizing various technological advances in its vehicles and became one of the pioneers in building with these innovations.
Each manufacturer has their own hallmarks and one feature that sets Alfa Romeo apart from the rest is the dual overhead camshaft engine in their Grand Prix car that debuted in 1914. The first car to be used on the road with this engine was the 6C 1500 Sport. .

Alfa Romeo is also the first to test the first electric injection systems on its 6C 2500. This engine has six fuel injectors, all fed by a semi-high pressure pump system. Another new technology, mechanical variable valve timing, was used on the Alfa Romeo Spider and later sold in the United States of America in 1980.
The Alfa Romeo Cats also used more technology, including the plastic radiator expansion tank and four-wheel disc brakes.
Current Alfa Romeo models include the MiTO, a three-door sports supermini. It was first seen in June 2008 in Milan, Italy. Another is the Alfa Romei Giulietta, a five-door family car that was officially unveiled at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.
