Bible verse about putting God first

As my eyes fluttered open, I drowsily grabbed my phone from under my pillow to check the time.

Oh no, I sighed; It was 5:55 in the morning. almost time to get dressed for work. Without thinking, I checked the weather, then my email, then Facebook and Pinterest. Before I knew it, 25 minutes had passed. Not only did I ignore that still, small voice urging me to start the day with prayer andpray through the biblebut now he was late for work. Morning prayers were out of the question, at least not if I didn't want to get fired. My day continued as it had started, looking for other things to do, but the only one that really took priority.

Whether it's on social media or on our to-do list, life has a funny way of messing up our time with God; I am right?

Our natural inclination is not to fight for the things of God. Psalm 51:5 says, “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and my mother conceived me in sin.”

“Because the sinful nature is always the enemy of God. He never obeyed God's laws and he never will. Romans 8:7"

It's no wonder that despite our best plans, we still don't put God first. But it's not all in vain, says Philippians 2:13: "For God is at work in you and gives you the desire and strength to do what pleases him."

To put God first, we must go against our natural inclinations, we must make every effort to know him, and we cannot do it alone, try as we may. So if you're constantly struggling to spend time with God, you should know this. God wants you to know him, he loves you unconditionally and is waiting for you with open arms, so pray and ask him to help you put him first in your life if that is your most sincere desire.

What does it mean to put God first?

Take your favorite journal and think about the following. Where do you spend most of your time praying and building a relationship with God? So think about what you need to prioritize to put God on the pedestal where He belongs.

If you're having a hard time getting interested in spending time with the word instead of other forms of entertainment you enjoy, here are some ideas that have worked for me that you can try.

If you want to check it out, I used the Bible.is app and listened to the dramatized NIV version of the Bible.

I especially like the book of John, but any of the four gospels is a good place to start to get an overview of who God is. You can then move on to a history themed book, e.g. B. Esther, Job, Ruth or another interesting book. It's not a race, take the time to immerse yourself in God's words and build a notebook to write down your reflections or jot down notes as you study the Bible. This is advice I wish I had taken sooner. Writing down your reflections is a good way to support what you read and to note how God is speaking to you through these verses.

#3 Read the Bible Thoroughly

There are several plansRead the Bible in 90 Days or Up to a Year. My only advice is to do what works best for you, you don't have to finish the Bible in 90 days.
